Ayran - Turkish yoghurt drink

Making Ayran makes Lassi look complicated...if you take more than 30 seconds you are doing something wrong.

In Turkey it often accompanies a meal, but you will enjoy it equally (more perhaps, if you like wine with your meals!) as a refreshing drink for a hot day

 

Ayran

Take 3 parts natural yoghurt, preferably 'live' and preferably made from full milk

Add 1 part cold water

Add a big pinch of salt

 

Put in a blender for a few seconds until well mixed

Serve with ice, on the terrace, under the shade of a wisteria...
